

Florence E. Stoever, 83, of Davenport, passed away on Friday, October 21, 2011 at Genesis East. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 AM Monday in the Runge Mortuary Chapel. Visitation will be from 2-6 PM Sunday at the mortuary. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Macular Degeneration Foundation. Mrs. Stoever was born July 16, 1928 in Illinois City, Illinois, the daughter of Guy and Lenora (Patterson) Hahn. She was a 1946 graduate of Davenport High School. On July 18, 1948 she married John C. Stoever at Zion Lutheran Church in Davenport. He preceded her in death on December 6, 2005.
She was employed for many years by the Davenport Physician’s Exchange.
She enjoyed gardening and crocheted many prayer shawls in her volunteer work for hospice. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
Survivors include her children: John A. Stoever (Margie) of Arlington, TN, Guy T. Stoever of Minooka, IL, Gregory C. Stoever (Stephanie) of Pittsburgh, PA, Karen S. Kirkland (James) of Florence, SC, and Pamela J. Zimmer (Michael) of Stevens Point, WI; grandchildren: Erika, Christina, John Michael, Lindsay, Katie, Morgan, Kara, Elias, Nicholas, Nathan, Scott, Derek, David, and Isabella Rose; great grandchildren: Ava, Mia, John Preston, Kailey, and Jonah; and a sister Helen Adams of East Wenatchee, WA.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Catherine Werner and a brother, Guy S. Hahn, Jr.
