Frank Samuel Griggs

Frank S. Griggs, 71, of Eldridge, Iowa passed away Wednesday, December 15, 2010 at Select Specialty Hospital in Davenport. Visitation will be from 5-8 pm Monday at the mortuary. Funeral services will be held at 10 am, Tuesday, December 21, 2010 in the Runge Mortuary Chapel. Burial will follow in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery, with military rites provided by Vietnam Veterans Quad Cities Chapter 299. Memorials may be made to the Bethany Home. Mr. Griggs was born November 11, 1939 in Ottumwa, Iowa, the son of Carl and LaRue (West) Griggs. He served in the United States Marine Corps. On September 2, 1962, he married Paula Anne Farnsworth in Ottumwa. She preceded him in death April 29, 2010.

He was employed by Caterpillar in Mount Joy, Iowa for over 25 years. He was a devoted father and grandfather. His interests included watching football and baseball, acrylic painting, and his Christian faith.

Survivors include his children: son and daughter-in-law Mike and Connie Griggs and their children Emily, Ashley, and Ryan of Oswego, Illinois, daughter Melissa Shipley and her son, Parker of Eldridge, and son, Jonathan Griggs of Davenport; a brother, Terry and a sister, Carla.
