Funeral services for Fred N. Lown, 87, of Davenport, will be 10:30 am on Friday at Cunnick-Collins Mortuary, Davenport. Burial will follow at the Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery, Davenport. Family will greet friends on Friday from 9:30 am to service time at the Mortuary.Fred passed away on Monday, November 3, 2014 at Jersey Ridge Place, Davenport. Fred Norman Lown was born on May 15, 1927 in Kent City, MI, the son of Joseph and Hazel (Ferneau) Lown. He married Phillis Jean Winegar on April 10, 1949 in Fowlerville, MI. Phillis passed away on Sunday, June 14, 2009, at her residence in Davenport. He worked as maintenance Supervisor for the Post Office for 18 years, retiring in 1988. He had served in the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II.Fred was a member of the Davenport American Legion #26.Survivors include his daughters; Sandra (Ron) Krambeck of North Carolina, Mary Crist of Davenport, five grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and brother; Jon Lown of Mission, TX. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, daughter; Betty Carr, brothers; Phillip and James and sister; Agnes Elizabeth.Memorials may be made to Central Baptist Church, Moline, IL.
