Visitation will be held on Friday, June 21, 2019 from 4:00 to 6:00 at the Runge Mortuary. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 22, 2019 in the Runge Mortuary Chapel. Gary was born on March 25, 1945 to Robert and Velma (Winters) Mau in Davenport, IA. He served in the U.S. Navy. He was united in marriage to Janice Johannsen on August 22, 1970 in Davenport. He worked for over 30 years at the Rock Island Arsenal, retiring from the Department of Defense in 2002.
Gary loved traveling across the country seeing the mountains, lakes, going fishing and skiing. He was devoted to his family and his special Irish Setters.
Those left honoring his memory are his loving wife of nearly50 years, Jan Mau of Davenport, IA; son, Jeffery (Ann Marie) Mau of Davenport, IA; daughter, Jennifer Mau of Portland, OR; grandchildren, Avery Panganiban of Portland, OR and Hunter Mau of Davenport, IA; sister, Sandy (Ed) Winborn of Davenport, IA; and brother, Ron (Cheryl) Mau of Bettendorf, IA.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Denise Griffin.
