Gary Allen Werthmann Sr

Memorial services for Gary Allen Werthmann Sr, 60, of Coal City, Il, formerly of Davenport, will be 1:00 pm on Wednesday, December 28, 2016, at Cunnick-Collins Mortuary, Davenport. Military rites will be conducted by the American Legion #26. Family will greet friends on Wednesday from 11:00 am to service time at the Mortuary. Inurnment will take place at a later date at Pine Hill cemetery. Gary passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, December 20, 2016, at Morris Hospital, Morris, Illinois. Cunnick-Collins Mortuary assisting family with arrangements. Gary Allen Werthmann Sr. was born on August 12, 1956 in Quebec, Canada, the son of Anthony and Mary (Stolze) Werthmann. He married Jerilyn Jean Tracy on March 12, 1976 in Davenport. She preceded him in death on April 5, 2013. Gary worked at John Deere for several years and then at Wayne Montgomery. He graduated from Assumption High School in 1975. Gary was a former member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, Davenport. Gary enjoyed fishing and was an avid St. Louis Cardinal Fan. He served in the U.S. Marines with the 1st Battalion Platoon #1097 while stationed in San Diego, CA. Survivors include his son; Gary (Alisha) Werthmann Jr. of Davenport, daughter; Sherri (Martin) Harris of Davenport, grandchildren; Alicia, Caden, Ashlynn, Alivia, Alizabeth, special companion; Rhonda Reano of Coal City, IL, brother; David Werthmann of St. Louis, MO., and goddaughter, Kristina. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife and an infant brother, Gregory Werthmann. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
