

Glen Henry Lamp, 67, of Davenport, passed away Tuesday, May 10, 2016. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 16, 2016 at St. Paul Lutheran Church. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at the church. Burial will be at the National Cemetery in Rock Island, IL. Glen was born on July 23, 1948 in Davenport, IA, the son of Glen Lee and Betty Elaine (Dougherty) Lamp. He graduated from Central High School and was a United States Navy Veteran serving in Vietnam from 1965 – 1969 on the USS Forrestal. He was united in marriage to Deb Gletty on February 7, 1970 in Davenport and worked at Occidental Chemical and later retired from Oscar Mayer.
In his younger years he was very involved in Little League and Boy Scouts.
Family was very important to him and he especially loved his sons and grandsons. He also enjoyed the outdoors – hunting, camping, fishing, wood carving and riding his Harley.
Survivors include his wife, Deborah; sons, Glen J. (Kathy) Lamp and Steven R. Lamp; grandsons, Trever and Tyler Lamp and aunt, Iona (Bill) Fangmann.
Glen was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Terry Lamp; sister, Sandra Williams and his two furry best friends, Shorty and Jawa, who passed away with him.
