

Helen June Ward, 91, of Davenport, passed away Saturday, August 29, 2015 in Davenport. Private family services will be held at The Runge Mortuary. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family. Online condolences may be left at www.rungemortuary.com.
Helen was born February 11, 1924 in Camp Point, IL; the daughter of Charles F. and Mildred E. (Baxter) Angell. She married Ned E. Ward on January 4, 1943 in Palmyra, MO; he preceded her in death in 1989.
Helen worked for J.I. Case for 21 years and retired from Star Services Company after many years of service. She was a member of St. John United Methodist Church and enjoyed antiques, crafts and baking. She was a wonderful, loving person and a mother who sacrificed everything for her children.
Those left to honor her memory include her daughters, Shirley (Jerry)Watkinson, Davenport and Linda (Kenny) Lane, Loudon, TN; grandchildren: Todd, Kevin and Jeff Mayes, Jim Skelley and Ashley Puckett; and her brother, Bill Angell, Kingman, AZ.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Ruth Ann Mayes; son, Larry; grandson, Joseph Van Hecke; brothers, Russell and Emery and sisters, Margaret Nelson, Nora Brockieck and Betty Tournear.
