Jacklynn Kay Draper, 73, of Blue Grass, Iowa, passed away Friday, April 19, 2019 at her home with her loving family by her side. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2019 at 11am at Weerts Funeral Home, Jersey Ridge and Kimberly; visitation will begin at 9am. Burial will be at a later date at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery. Memorials in Jackie’s name may be made to the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
Jackie was born in 1945 to Philip and Beverly Brilz in Des Moines, Iowa and was raised by her loving mother and step-father Warren Emary. On May 2, 1975, Jackie married the love of her life, Darrell Draper. Jackie owned and operated a batting cage and loved to help and teach kids how to bat. She loved being able to spend time in the outdoors working on her gardens and spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Those left to honor Jackie’s memory are her husband of 44 years, Darrell; children: Todd Johnson, Mellissa (Bruce Powers) Robinson, and Jeremy (Lynda) Draper; seven grandchildren: Amanda, KatiAnne, Shane, Jacklynn, Justin, Brandon, and Gideon; seven great-grandchildren; two siblings: Dean Emary and Penney Smith. Jackie was preceded in death by her mother and step-father, Beverly and Warren Emary; her father Philip Brilz; and her sister Patsy.
