James "Jim" O. Curtis

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 27, 2025, in the Runge Mortuary & Crematory Chapel. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 26, from 4-7 p.m. He will be laid to rest in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery.

Jim was born the son of James and Mildred (Hanson) Curtis on February 19, 1943, in New Brunswick, Canada. He served proudly in the United States Air Force. Jim was united in marriage to Barbara on August 23, 1963, in Maine. He worked as a diesel mechanic for many years, retiring at the age of 70.

Jim was a jack of all trades. He loved auto restorations, stock car racing, and mud drags. He also enjoyed going fishing and hunting. More than anything he cherished spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was kind-hearted and would give anyone anything.

He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Barb; sons, Jimmy (Jenny) Curtis of Peoria, IL, and David (Donna “D-Duck”) Curtis of Davenport, IA; son-in-law, Michael Ratliff (of the late, Stephanie); 19 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; and sister, Gladys Daniels of IA.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Stephanie Ratliff; 2 brothers; and 1 sister.
