James Werner Toensing

Jim was born August 21, 1945 in St. Paul, MN to Werner & Ann (Bronkla) Toensing. He was united in marriage to Karen Weathers on August 22, 2003 in Bloomington, MN.

Jim had worked with Hirshfields Paints in Shakopee, MN for many years retiring in 2004.

He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, RI. For 25 years he was a member of the Knights of Columbus in Minnesota and currently was a Father Edward Bader Assembly 4th Degree Knight of Columbus in Rock Island, IL.

Jim had a gift for singing. He was very active in several choirs over the years and traveled extensively through the United States & Europe singing. He had the honor of singing at Notre Dame & for the Papal Mass in Rome. Being from Minnesota, he was an avid Vikings and Twins fan.

Those left to honor his memory include his wife Karen of Davenport; 2 step daughters Lori Kilcoin, Rock Island, IL & Dawn Schaaf, Davenport, IA; Step son Steven Schaaf Jr., Davenport; 5 grandchildren Reena, Riley, Aubrey, Cassandra, & Stephanie; Brother John Toensing OR; Sister Ann Toensing, CA; Aunt Bernice Westland, MN; & several nieces & nephews.
