

James “Jim” H. Wilson, 79, of Bennett, Iowa, passed away Thursday, May 21, 2015, at Select Specialty Hospital in Davenport. Private family services will be held. Visitation for the public will be on Wednesday, May 27, 2015, from 4:00-8:00 pm at the Runge Mortuary. Online condolences may be left at www.rungemortuary.com. Memorials may be made to Camp Courageous, and the Bennett Volunteer Fire Department. Jim was born on February 5, 1936, in Davenport, son of Harold and Janet (VanEvera) Wilson. He graduated from LeClaire High School in 1954 and attended Iowa State University, majoring in agriculture. Jim was united in marriage to Sharon Rubery on March 9, 1963, in Davenport. He was a lifetime farmer in Scott and Cedar Counties. He knew every road and highway in the state. He liked to take many farm and road trips, and it seemed like he knew someone in every town. He knew every Iowa county in alphabetical order, as well as the county seat for each! He was president of the Scott County Beef Producers and was a board member of the Cedar County Beef Producers. Those left to honor his memory are his wife, Sharon; daughters and son, Cindy Wilson, Walcott, IA; David (Janice) Wilson, Bennett, IA; Rhonda (Jim) Reinke, Cascade, IA; and Renee (Andy) Friedrichsen, Clinton, IA; his grandchildren Eric Spengler, Walcott; Whitney Wilson; Holland (Aaron) Warner, Cedar Rapids, IA; Caden and Jase Reinke, Cascade, IA; Ashton, Amber and Ava Friedrichsen, Clinton; two great-granddaughters Isabelle and Addison Spengler, Walcott; a sister, Karen Auliff; a brother, Carl Wilson, and many nieces and nephews.
