Janet passed away on Sunday, January 5, 2020 at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf.
Janet Elaine Bennett was born on June 6, 1943 in Davenport, IA, the daughter of Vernon and Beatrice "Peg" (Millage) Wood. Janet lived in Bettendorf most of her adult life until moving to Moline in 2000. She married Allan Moskowitz on September 30, 1966 and had two children, Matthew and Stacy (the lights of her life!). Janet and Allan were married 14 years. Janet went back to school and received her degree from St. Ambrose and had a long career at John Deere in their Pension Department before retiring from John Deere. Janet remarried the late, great, Earl Bennett on February 8, 2000.
Janet and Earl loved traveling in their R.V., fondly named, "The Diesel Dude". They would often visit Earl's family in Oklahoma, and their favorite destination was Las Vegas! Vegas was their destination of choice and would try and visit frequently after taking their 100 mile detour to see the world's largest ball of tin foil.
When Janet and Earl weren't traveling, they enjoyed working on puzzles for hours on end and frequently visiting the local casinos, where they would tear it up on the penny slots. Janet was also fascinated by all things mysterious. She would watch shows about ghost, aliens, or and mythical creatures.
She was preceded in death by her parents and Earl. She is survived by her two sisters, Jane (Bob) Thiel, Beverly (Jim) Hansen, her children, Matthew (Corene) Moskowitz of Brighton, MI, and Stacy (Brett) Barnett of Davenport, IA, six grandchildren, Kaylie, Erica, Isabella, Alexis, Aliya, and Luke.
She will always be remembered as a strong, funny, sweet, compassionate and loving woman and will be greatly missed by all that she touched.
