

Janet Kay Fletcher, 68, of Pt Byron, IL died Sunday, April 18, 2010 at Illini Hospital in Silvis, IL. Funeral services will be Thursday, April 22, 2010 at 10:30 am at the Our Savior Presbyterian Church in Argo, IA. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5-8 pm at The Runge Mortuary. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the church.
Janet was born January 16, 1942 in Davenport, the daughter of Ralph and Mildred (Cavanaugh) Hover. She was united in marriage to James Fletcher on September 6, 1969 in Rock Island, IL. Janet worked at Alcoa and also at Betz Laboratories where she was office manager and played many important roles in day-to-day operations. She retired from Betz and then served as Pt. Byron City Clerk where she’d been the last ten years. She was a prominent member of Our Savior Presbyterian Church where she played the organ and had served as an elder, deacon and bell choir director. Janet also volunteered for many organizations.
Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Jim, Pt. Byron, IL; son, Dan (Angela) Fletcher, Cedar Rapids, IA; daughters, Anne Curtis, Clinton; Sandi (Bill) Spurrell, Iowa City and Missy Salazar, Davenport; 11 grandchildren, one great granddaughter and a great grandson on the way; brother, Dick (Donna) Hover, Cedar Rapids, IA and her beloved cat, Paddy. Her parents preceded her in death.
