Jeanette V. Swingle, 83, of Davenport passed away Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at Genesis Medical Center, East Campus. Funeral services will be at 11:30 A.M. Monday, April 18, 2011 at The Runge Mortuary Chapel. Visitation will be held Sunday from 3-5 p.m. at the mortuary. Burial will be in National Cemetery, Rock Island. Jeanette was born March 15, 1928 in Davenport, Iowa the daughter of Lan and Viola (Eckert) Custer. She was united in marriage to Doyle L. Swingle. He preceded her in death December 7, 1989.
She worked for over 24 years at 30 Lanes bowling in Davenport. She enjoyed league bowling and playing bingo. Jeanette was very supportive of her kids and grandkids as she attended many baseball, football and soccer games. She cherished the time spent with her family and loved cooking.
Jeanette liked to visit with her friends from the bowling alley.
Those left to honor her memory include her children: Vicki (Ernie) Vasquez, CA; Jeff (Karon) Swingle, Marc (Angie) Swingle, Kristi (Eric) Endorf,; sister-in-law, Shirley Swingle, all of Iowa.
