Jerome "Jerry" A. Werthmann

Visitation will be held from 2:00-4:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 19, at the Runge Mortuary, followed by a rosary at 4:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, May 20, at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church. Jerome was born on September 10, 1934 in Davenport, IA, to Sebastian and Mabel (Hoese) Werthmann. On November 7, 1959 he was united in marriage to Betty Ann Franceschina. Jerry proudly served in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of the Korean War. He retired from General Motors in 1989 after 30 years of service. Jerry then worked for Lujack’s for another 20 years.

Jerry was very friendly and made friends everywhere he went. He enjoyed golfing, traveling, being outdoors, running, cookouts, billiards, birthday dinners, and more than anything spending time with his family. He also loved a cold glass of gin.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 65 years, Betty Werthmann; children, Kelly (Scott) Gilliam, Kevin (Sherri) Werthmann, Jennifer (Todd) Satterly, Connie Werthmann, and Janel (Kory) Clark; grandchildren, Ashley, Koltin, Austin, Paige, and Maile; 6 great grandchildren; sister, Madonna Nelson; sister-in-law, Yvonne Werthmann; and his cat, Shilo.

He was preceded in death by his parents; 8 siblings; and grandsons, Corey Michael and Jarin.
