Jimmie D. Peterson Sr.

Jimmie D. Peterson Sr., 82, of Milledgeville, formerly of the Quad Cities left this life gracefully on Friday, September 21, 2018. Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Friday, September 28, 2018 at the Runge Mortuary, followed by a memorial service at 4:00 p.m. He will be laid to rest in Fairmount Cemetery. Memorials may be left to Rock River Hospice Home or the Volunteer Milledgeville Fire Department/Ambulance. Online condolences may be expressed at www.rungemortuary.com. Jimmie D. was born on June 24, 1936 to Floyd and Sylvia (Halterman) Peterson in Ames, Iowa. He was united in marriage to Barbara Mooney on November 15, 1958 and she passed away on August 28, 2003. He later married Gini Real on July 6, 2006 in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. Jimmie D. retired July 31, 1987 from John Deere Foundry after 29 years of service, working his way from the foundry to management. Jimmie D. loved to travel, and enjoyed country music and wood working. He did life his way. Those missing him greatly are his wife of 12 years, Gini; children: Debbie Graham, Cordova, IL, Cindy (Randy) Lemons, Fort Towson, OK, Jim Peterson Jr., Hampton, IL, Marcel (Liz) Hutchison, Milledgeville, IL, Domonique (Alan) Beck, Chadwick, IL and Malynda Last , Milledgeville, IL; eleven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Barbara; brother, Larry Peterson and sister, Juanita Fry.
