John Bowdre

John Gilbert Bowdre, 64, of Davenport, died Tuesday, April 3, 2012 in Davenport. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 pm at the Oakdale Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Chapel. There will be no visitation. Online condolences may be left at www.rungemortuary.com

John was born March 26, 1948 in Wapello, IA; the youngest of seven children of Frank and Marian (Allen) Bowdre.

John was a friendly guy to most people that knew him and was willing to give a helping hand wherever he could. He chose his way of life because he didn’t want to depend on anyone. He wanted to be the person others depended upon which made him feel good.

Survivors include his mother, Marian, Davenport, children: Kristy (Bowdre) Anderson (Ken Kosgard); Latonya Alcala; grandsons: Randy and Chris; several nieces and nephews who lovingly called him Uncle Johnny and siblings: Sally Bowdre; Dorothy Lewis and Herbert and Richard Bowdre.

He was preceded in death by his father, brother, Benny and sister, LaVon Yackle.

John, you may never know how many lives you have touched in your lifetime and you may never really know how many people thought of you as a friend, but, people will miss you and hope for the best in your new life!
