Josephine H. “Jerri” Allard, 80, of Davenport, died on Monday, July 4, 2011 at Genesis Medical Center West Campus, in Davenport following a long and courageous battle with cancer. As was her wish, cremation rites have been accorded. There will be no public visitation or service. Cunnick-Collins Mortuary and Cremation Service is assisting the family with arrangements.Josephine Hester Blacksmith was born on January 6, 1931 in Stahl, MO, the daughter of Gustave and O’Dessa (Drummond) Blacksmith. On June 19, 1954 she married Robert K. “Bud” Allard in Davenport, IA. He preceded her in death in December of 2009.Mrs. Allard was a “Pink Lady” with the Mercy Hospital Women’s Auxiliary for many years. Mostly, she was a devoted and loving wife, mom, and grandmother.Surviving members of the family include – 2 Daughters: Cynthia “Sabrina” Allard and Lisa (Bruce) Sandry both of Davenport; 2 Sons: Tim (LaRae) Allard of Akron, IA, and Mark Allard of Davenport; 10 Grandchildren and 2 Great-grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, 2 sisters: Clara and LaVita, and 1 brother: Bernard.
