Joyce E. Richie

Joyce E. (Tootie) Richie, 83, of Rock Island, formerly of Davenport, passed away Monday, January 12, 2015 at St. Anthony’s Nursing and Rehab Center in Rock Island. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 2:00 pm at the Runge Mortuary. Visitation will be Saturday from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm at the mortuary. Tootie was born August 14, 1931 in Davenport; the daughter of Henry C. and Venette H. (Harkert) Andres. She was united in marriage to Jack Richie in 1974 in Davenport; he preceded her in death. Her family and her home were the center of her life. She loved to play bingo as well as play and visit the casinos. Her greatest joy was her weekly Sunday family gatherings where they shared a meal and played cards.

Those left to honor her memory include her children: Linda Lou (Neil) Hamilton, Davenport; Elaine (Jack) Logan, Kirkland, WA; Charlie Johnston and Debbie, Davenport; Wayne Johnston, Davenport and Kim Martin, Kirkwood, IL; fourteen grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; sister, Sandy (Wally) Huntington and a brother Steve (Alice) Andres, both of Davenport.

She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband, Dick Johnston (1971), second husband, Jack (1986); son, Ricky; daughter, Rebecca; granddaughter, Jackie Logan and brother and sister-in-law, Don and Sue Andres.
