

Judith “Judie” K. Stanley, 86, of Davenport, Iowa, passed away on February 26, 2026, after a multiyear journey with Alzheimer’s. Per her wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held at Cunnick Collins Life Event Center, 1200 E 39th St, Davenport, Iowa 52807, on Saturday, June 20, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
Judie was born on January 17, 1940, in Moline, Illinois, the daughter of John Lawson and Berneice (Rosenberg). Judie graduated from Moline High School and went on to build her career with John Deere, where she worked as an Accounting Assistant for 23 years.
In 1960, Judie married Ellwyn Schwanz. Together, they raised five children: Rick, Robin, Rob, Randy, and Renee. In 1991, she married Jay Stanley, adding a new and beloved branch to the family.
A thoughtful presence in the lives of those around her, Judie was known for being caring, compassionate, and neighborly. She had a deep passion for her pets, loved bringing family together, and took special joy in planning holiday gatherings. She also remained a devoted sports fan—she wouldn’t miss a Hawkeyes basketball game or a Chicago Cubs game for anything.
Judie was a faithful member of First Covenant Church in Moline, Illinois, and served on two mission trips to Haiti.
Survivors include her children; Rick (Jacque) Schwanz, Robin (Brian) Geurink, Rob (Mary) Schwanz, Randy (Kelley) Schwanz, Renee (Kevin) Skillett, Christopher (Diane) Stanley, Elizabeth (Billy) Stanley, Theodore Stanley, Lynn (John) Duax, and Ellen (Kendall) Powell; grandchildren, Danny, Michael, Matthew, Ben, Christopher, Tim, Skyler, Katelyn, Brooke, Thomas, Alexis, Hannah, Blake, Morgan, and Jillian; great-grandchildren, Emma, Maddie, Daryl, Adalee, Lawson, Knox, Sawyer, Sloan, Graham, Lainey, Emma, Maddie, Ridgely, Trace, Maddy, Jack, Lillian, Eleana, Uriah, Levick, Jayden, Jaxon, Lexi, Aria, and Asher; Judie's twin brother, John (Sue) Lawson, and younger sister, Jeannine (Jay) McFadyen.
Judie was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, Jay Stanley.
