

Juergen was born June 17, 1931 in Hamburg, Germany to Frieda (Boldt) and Willy Kroening. He completed his carpenter apprenticeship in Germany and came to the United States in 1953. Juergen met his wife, Ingrid, in Davenport and were united in marriage on September 17, 1955. The couple resided in Davenport all their life where they raised their two children Debbie and Mike. Juergen was drafted and served in the Army from 1955 to 1957.
Juergen was a 70 year member of the Carpenters Union Local 4 and retired in 1991 as a superintendent. In his spare time, Juergen enjoyed spending time outdoors tending to his yard. During his later years, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Celebrating his long-life are his daughter, Debbie Lensmeyer, daughter-in-law, Jane Kroening, grandchildren: Ryan (Wendy) Lensmeyer, Brandon (Jenica) Lensmeyer, Jenna (Cory) Beatty, Michael Kroening, Emily Kroening, great-grandchildren: Aubrey, Jaylen, Brecken, Kynli, Tatem, Lawson, Dax, and Everett as well as his brother, Christian (Gerda) Kroening of Germany and sister-in-law Susan Knuth; along with nieces and nephews.
Preceding Juergen in death were Ingrid, his wife of 66 years, his parents, his son Mike, his son-in-law Paul, brother-in-law Ralph and sister-in-law Ruth.
The family will receive guests on Thursday, February 6, from 11:00 AM until service time at 12:00 PM in The Runge Mortuary Chapel. He will be laid to rest in Davenport Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Clarissa Cook Hospice House. Online condolences may be expressed at www.rungemortuary.com.
