Davenport, IA Funeral services for Kenneth F. Brooks Sr., 63, of Davenport, will be 10:30 am on Thursday at Cunnick-Collins Mortuary, Davenport. Family will greet friends on Wednesday from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Mortuary. Burial will follow at the Rock Island National Cemetery, Rock Island, where military Rites will be conducted by the Davenport American Legion #26. Cunnick - Collins Mortuary and Cremation Service is assisting the family with arrangements.Kenneth passed away on Sunday, January 31, 2010 at Genesis Medical Center – West Campus, Davenport.Kenneth Franklin Brooks Sr. was born on April 13, 1946 in Highland Park,IL, the son of B. Whitney and Eleanor (Goldstead) Brooks. He married Mary J. Creighton on October 15, 1968 in Rock Island. He owned and operated Bi-State Copier Service in Moline for 19 years, retiring in 2007.He served in the U.S. Navy during the Viet Nam Era as 3rd Class Petty Officer. He was a member of High Point Bible Chapel, Davenport.Survivors include his wife Mary, of Davenport, sons; Kenneth Brooks Jr. and Jeffrey Brooks, both of Davenport, his mother; Eleanor Brooks of Davenport, a sister; Sandra Gillum of Des Moines and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, B. Whitney Brooks, and a sister, Mary L. Lenker.Memorials may be made to High Point Bible Chapel.
