Larry J. Cockayne

Larry “Jimmy” Cockayne, 56 of Davenport passed away on Tuesday October 21, 2025 at Unity Point Trinity Bettendorf. Visitation will be held from 1:00pm-3:00pm on Sunday, October 26, 2025 at Weerts Funeral home Davenport, Iowa. Funeral service will be held on Monday October 27, 2025 at 10:00am at the funeral home. Jim was born on January 30, 1969 in Iowa City to Larry and Susan (Fields) Cockayne. He graduated from West high school in 1987. Jim was united in marriage to Eliese Gardner on May 25, 1996 in Davenport. He became a dad to Samantha in 1998.

Jim enjoyed fishing and riding ATCs in his early years. He loved classic cars, especially the 1970 Oldsmobile his dad built. He liked to spend time with his friends listening to music in his garage. Jim was an avid Chicago Bears and Chicago Cubs fan. “Wrigley” and “TT” were his fur companions. He enjoyed the weekly bouquet of flowers his daughter would pick each week from the yard and watching the birds.

Survivors include his wife Eliese, daughter Samantha (Aaron) Hahn of Walcott, IA, Parents Larry (Stepmom Tracy) Cockayne of Davenport, IA and Sister Julie Cockayne of Tulsa, OK, stepbrother Robby (Leticia) Graham and children, stepsister Kara (Andy) Wood, and stepbrother Danny Graham.

Jim was preceded in death by his mother, brother William Cockayne” BJ”.
