Larry was known as an incredibly talented and very hard working man. That talent and work ethic enabled him to retire from Alcoa as a Supervisor after 35 years of dedicated service. He was a steadfast conservationist and an avid sportsman. His love for the outdoors was always on display as he rigorously maintained his life-long dream in sustaining the perfect and private hunting ground, Pike Run. Larry was a true steward of the land. As much as Larry achieved and cherished, it was his family and his dear friends he was most proud of. He was the type of individual you could always count on. Always willing to lend a hand, he never shied away from a request to render assistance. He will forever be celebrated as a man of unquestionable integrity, limitless charity, extraordinary insight and wisdom, continuous humility, reflective honesty, an incredible sense of purpose, powerful leadership but above all a profound ability to love and care for all those he met. Larry Thumann Sr. was indeed a rare person but one many aspired to be like. Larry Thumann is survived and lovingly remembered, adored and honored eternally by his wife of 55 years, Beverly Thumann. His sons, Larry Jr. and wife Laura of Davenport, IA; Garry and wife Andrea of Blue Grass, IA; Mark of Dallas, TX. Larry Sr. enjoyed being a grandpa to all of his grandchildren: Larry Thumann III, Kristin Scent, Lisa Schmidt, Rachel Ruiz, Emily Thumann and Abby Thumann. Larry also had 8 great grandchildren he was incredibly proud of.
