Laurie was born on November 22, 1951, in Sacramento, California. Her life was deeply rooted in her faith in Jesus Christ, which guided her values, choices, and the way she loved those around her.
She was preceded in death by her father, Arthur Lynn Bryant, and her mother, Audrey Jane Bryant (Johnston). She is survived by her beloved daughter, Andrea Schneider (Bryant); her son-in-law, Jeff Schneider; and her treasured grandchildren, Hailey, Nolan, and Reid, who brought her immense pride and joy. She is also survived by her brother, Chris Bryant (Bonnie); her sister, Nora Bryant Abraham; and her seven nieces and nephews Tabitha Anderson, Samantha Eads, Jessica Voges, Leah Ragona, Molly Bryant, Conor Bryant, and Noah Bryant; along with many great-nieces and great-nephews.
Laurie found happiness in the simple and meaningful rhythms of life—working outdoors in her yard and garden, spending time over the years with her horses, and doting on her beloved cats and dogs that she cherished throughout her life, all of whom she loved fiercely. Family was important to her, and she valued being with the people she cared about. Laurie was strong in her convictions, and was a loving and deeply loyal person.
Laurie graduated from Marycrest College with a bachelor's degree in Nursing, a profession which brought her a great deal of personal fulfillment. She was a dedicated nurse and was honored to help and care for others in their time of need.
In her later years, Laurie lived with dementia. True to her independent spirit, she made the decision to remain at home rather than move into a care facility, a choice that reflected her desire for autonomy and familiarity.
Laurie will be remembered for her faith, her compassion, her love of family and animals, and the lasting impression she left on all who knew her. She will be deeply missed.
A private service will be held for family and close friends at a later date. Those who wish to honor Laurie’s memory are encouraged to do so through prayer, reflection, or kindness toward others.
