Funeral services will be held at 2:30 PM, Friday, September 30, 2011 in The Runge Mortuary Chapel. Visitation will be from 4-7 PM, Thursday, September 29, 2011, at the mortuary. Lecel was born on May 21, 1938 in Hamilton, Alabama, the son of Georgia and Audie (Mitchell) Emerson. On May 22, 1965, he married Margaret Wiskirchen in Davenport, Iowa.
He was employed by John Deere Harvester Works in East Moline for over 30 years prior to his retirement. He enjoyed gardening and was an outdoor man.
Survivors include his wife Margaret; sons Mark (Stephanie) Emerson of Andrew, IA, Matthew Emerson of Hamilton, AL, and Todd Emerson of Davenport; grandchildren Zach, Alexandrea, Dylan, Kaiden, and Hunter; a great grandchild; and siblings Ray (Bobbie) Emerson, East Moline, Sue Childers, Don (Joy) Emerson, and Bonnie Emerson, all of Hamilton, AL.
