

As was his wish, he has been cremated. A celebration of life service will be held at The Runge Mortuary and Crematory at 2:30 PM Friday, February 26, 2010. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service. Memorials may be made to the family for an education fund for his children.
Leigh, a loving husband, father, son, and brother was born to Leigh and Karen (Wilcox) Svacina on July 1, 1971 in Davenport, IA.
On June 22, 1996 he married the woman he would love Tammy and they would create five beautiful children together.
Leigh was not known for taking a direct path to any destination. After graduating from Pleasant Valley High School in Pleasant Valley, IA he worked various jobs in upscale restaurants and attended Scott Community College before making his way to the University of Iowa and finally, Northwestern Chiropractic College, from which he graduated in August of 2006. After his graduation he continued to work at Campiello Italian Restaurant in Eden Prairie, MN.
Leigh was known first and foremost for his sense of humor. He saw humor in most any situation and shared these observations in a way that brought laughter to many. He was not afraid to be silly with his family and friends which has left them with many wonderful memories.
Those left to celebrate his life are his wife, Tammy DeFrieze-Svacina, daughter, Kayla Mepham, and he and Tammy’s five children, Katie, Janelle, Alexa, Dylan, and Oliver, all of Chaska, MN, his parents Leigh and Karen, Eldridge, IA, his sister, Michele (Joel) Iiams, Grand Forks, ND, his grandmother Opal Wilcox, Muscatine, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents and maternal grandfather.
