

Funeral services for Lillian C. Dohrn, 87, of Rock Island, IL will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 19, 2010 at the Cunnick-Collins Mortuary chapel in Davenport, IA. Interment will be at Rock Island National Cemetery in Rock Island, IL. Family will greet friends at the mortuary on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Mrs. Dohrn died on Wednesday, January 13, 2010, at Friendship Manor in Rock Island, IL.Lillian Cecelia Habr was born in Davenport, IA on June 7, 1922, the daughter of Albert and Barbara (Hron) Habr. She married Ralph Dohrn on February 23, 1946, in Davenport, IA. He preceded her in death in 2005. Mrs. Dohrn worked as a secretary at the Rock Island Arsenal for over 20 years prior to her retirement in 1972. She and her husband owned the Davenport Boat Club and enjoyed traveling on the Mississippi River. She was a charter member of the Mississippi Valley Quilter’s Guild of the Quad Cities, the Bohemian Society of Cedar Rapids, the Croatian Club of Moline, and a 50-year member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Davenport. Mrs. Dohrn excelled in quilting and sewing and in past years was an award winning costume designer. She was devoted to her family and especially enjoyed being involved in her grandchildren’s and great-grandchildren’s activities.She is survived by two Sons: Thomas (Barb) Dohrn of Davenport, IA, Gregory (Linda Kay) Dohrn of Indianapolis, IN; six Grandchildren: Tom (Lannette) Dohrn Jr. of Eden Prairie, MN, Sarah Dohrn of Davenport, IA, Angela Dohrn of Davenport, IA, Gregory (Tricia) Dohrn Jr. of Ft. Dodge, IA, Garry Dohrn of Urbandale, IA, Trisha R. Dohrn of Des Moines, IA; four Great-grandchildren: Giovanni Baker, Dartangan Dohrn, Alexander Dohrn, and Brett Dohrn. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers: Al, Joe, and Jim; and four sisters: Ann, Libby, Barb, and Marie.The family would like to thank the caring professionals at Friendship Manor and Beacon of Hope Hospice for the special care and attention they gave to Lillian during her stay and through her illness.Memorials may be directed to Friendship Manor in Rock Island, IL or to Beacon of Hope Hospice in Davenport, IA.
