Friends are welcome to come to The Fountains Senior Living Community theater room (3725 Thunder Ridge Rd. Bettendorf) on Friday July 15th starting at 1:00pm for a social time which will be followed with a memorial service at 1:30.
Lillian was born in Chicago, IL and had two brothers, Bern and Lloyd, whom she loved very much. Lillian spent most of her early years living in Sweden with her mom, brothers and extended family on the family farm called Poarp. When travel opened following World War II, Lillian’s family returned to the Chicago area and began life in the states.
Lillian worked for the Rock Island Railroad and Marshall Fields before she met and eventually married her husband, Fred Wennlund in 1956. In 1957, Lillian and Fred welcomed twins, Lloyd and Roy. Lillian poured her life into loving and caring for her family over the years. Lillian came to know and love the Lord Jesus Christ when “her boys” were very young and demonstrated that love and faith and obedience to the Lord for the rest of her life. She often said it was the Lord’s will for her to love everyone in His name and she did it faithfully throughout her life.
Roy and Lloyd both married and provided the additional loves of her life with 7 grandchildren, Lisa, David (Allyson), Alyson, Frederick (Christina), Bethany, Marcey (T.J.) and Baxter. She lived to see and enjoy 3 great granddaughters, Faye, Adeline and Lily and one great grandson, Tripp.
Lillian was a very gifted artist and her family and friends have been blessed over the years to be recipients of her paintings, needlepoint, painted china and other works of love and beauty.
Her family and friends adored her and were blessed by her unconditional support and caring. She was the family prayer warrior and all of us have been blessed from her unending commitment to “pray without ceasing”.
Heaven is richer with her there and those she knew, loved and genuinely cared for felt unconditional love and acceptance from her. Those actions changed the lives of everyone that was fortunate to know her.
We will all miss her dearly but rejoice in her heavenly presence and the impact she had on our lives. It can’t be said enough how wonderful a mother, wife and friend Lillian was to all. Bless her in eternity with Jesus!
