Linda was born in Davenport on June 18, 1947. She was the daughter of Henry and Fern (Essex) Keding. She graduated from Central High School and attended college where she received her accounting certificate. Linda first worked for House of Representatives member Jim Leach for over 10 years. She then spent 20 years in the accounting department for MercyOne/Genesis Medical Center prior to her retirement. Her time at MercyOne/Genesis was made especially meaningful by her wonderful co-workers & lasting friendships she made.
She loved travelling with her family, especially to National Parks, Colorado and Las Vegas. She was a believer in luck and good times and enjoyed occasional visits to the Casino and always had her favorite lottery numbers ready. She was a member of St. Marks Lutheran church in her younger years, and later attended Grace United Methodist Church in Davenport. She had a deep love for God and found great comfort in the scriptures. In earlier years, Linda enjoyed horse riding, having owned two of her own. She had a lifelong love of collecting horses and unicorns, which brought her great joy.
She adored babysitting her grandchildren in earlier years, and being a grandmother was one of her greatest joys. Her love for them was unconditional. She was a devoted and very proud mom to her only child, Rodney.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the MercyOne/Genesis Hospice caregivers for the exceptional compassionate care and support they provided over the last 8 months.
Those left to honor her memory include her son, Rodney (Jennifer) Keding, Davenport, grandchildren, Bradley, Zachary and Logan, all of Davenport; sister, Pam Traeger and several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death are her parents and siblings: Cheryl England, Nancy Briggs and Carl Keding.
In keeping with Linda’s wishes a private celebration of life will be held. The family appreciates your thoughts and prayers during this time.
