Funeral service will be at 3:00 PM, Sunday, November 27, 2011 at St. Mark Lutheran Church, Davenport. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at church. Lloyd was born on July 19, 1932 in Winterset, Iowa, the son of Hans “Max” and Doris (Lenhardt) Marxen.

Lloyd served in the US Air Force from 1951-1955. He retired from John Deere, East Moline, in 1994. Previously, Lloyd owned and operated Lloyd’s Barber Shop in Davenport. He was a current member of the American Legion Post #26, lifetime member of AmVets, VFW, and St. Mark Lutheran Church. Lloyd was a devoted, generous family man. He was an avid gardener and sold his vegetables to local restaurants. Lloyd’s final gift was his donation to the Iowa Donor Network.

Those left to honor his memory include, his loving wife of 42 years, Dorothy; daughters Darcel (Rick) Richmond, North Carolina, Lana (Patrick) Herteen, Des Moines, and Dee Pearson, Davenport; son Jason Marxen, Davenport; sister Lavila Ramsey, Davenport; grandchildren, Christopher, William, Timothy, Peter, Kaitlyn, Alyssa, Dawson, and Madelyn; and one great grandson on the way.

He was preceded in death by his parents and former wife Charmaine Deutscher.
