Lois was born August 31, 1920 in Davenport, Iowa the daughter of Dwight and Lela (Carter) Coy. She was united in marriage to Robert H. Miller, Sr. on November 14, 1940. He preceded her in death on April 14, 1991. Lois had been a meat wrapper at Katz Royal Blue Supermarket, Davenport and then Eagles Food Centers for 20 years from where she retired in 1982. She was a member of Order of the Eastern Star, serving as Grand Worthy High Priestess in both Davenport and Rock Island. She was a past member of Davenport Moose, Elks, Lions Club, Davenport Post #26 Ladies Auxiliary, Putnam Museum and TOPS. In her early years she was very active in many bowling leagues throughout the Quad Cities. Those left to honor her memory include her 3 sons: Robert H. (Dawn) Miller Jr., Davenport, Dr. Richard E. Miller, Davenport, Terry W. (Jeanine) Miller, Urbandale, IA; 9 grandchildren: Jeff, Scott, Mark, Brett, Stephanie, Amanda, Kent, Kaitlin and Kevin; 11 great grandchildren; sister, Donna Hefti, FL; numerous nieces and nephews; and her true companion Peanut. She was preceded in death by her husband, a brother, Millard Coy, and 2 sisters, Ruby Byrum and Louise Decker.
