Lois Irene Squire

Lois Irene Squire, 87, of Davenport, passed away Thursday, December 9, 2021 at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City. Per her request, cremation rites will be accorded. Online condolences may be expressed at rungemortuary.com.

Lois was born in Nashville, TN on March 2, 1934. She was the loving daughter of George and Irene Murphy. She married Arthur Squire on May 28, 1955 in Tennessee. He preceded her in death on April 25, 2018.

She worked for over twenty years at Oscar Mayer, retiring in 1993. In her free time, she loved playing slots and bingo, but, her greatest joy was her family; especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She had been a member of the former Moose Lodge in Davenport. Her and her husband loved going to the Grand Ole Opry and visiting Branson, MO.

Those left to honor her memory include sons, Arthur (Nancy) Squire, III of Overland Park, KS and Steve (Angie) Squire, St. Cloud, MN; grandchildren: Rochelle (Shawn) Thomas and their children, Liam and Jace; Colleen Squire, Arthur W. Squire, IV, Emily Irene Squire and her children, Marcella and Gabriel; Sloan Squire and her fiancé, Alec Bowling and his son, Oliver; and Cameron Squire.

In addition to her husband and parents, her sister, Jean Antilla and a brother also passed away.
