

Visitation for Lorena M. Seline, 94, of Moline, formerly of Davenport, will be begin at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday at Cornerstone Baptist Church in Eldridge. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the church. A private family burial was held at Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Lorena died on Saturday, July 16, 2016 at her home following an extended illness. Cunnick-Collins Mortuary is assisting the family with arrangements.Lorena M. Doak was born in 1921 in Faith, SD, the daughter of Merle and Lucy Doak. In 1949 she was united in marriage to Tenny Seline in Watertown, SD. Lorena was the devoted mother of seven children. During World War II, she served as a lieutenant and flight nurse in the Army Air Corps, caring for wounded soldiers flying home from Europe. After the war, Lorena received her degree in public health nursing at the University of Minnesota. She retired from nursing in the 1980’s from Oscar Mayer in Davenport, after caring for injured workers for 20 years. Lorena was a longtime member of Cornerstone Baptist Church. Her interests included hosting dinners for family and friends, reading, and music. She is survived by Daughters: Julie (Dale) Farmer of Moline, IL, Lynn (Joe) Palmer of Walcott, IA; Sons: Donald of Blue Grass, IA, Paul (Sue) of Oak Park, IL, Malcolm (Myrna), and Philip (Renee), both of Bettendorf, IA; 7 Grandchildren: Eric Seline, Kristi Seline, Stephanie Seline, Bryce Seline, Blake Seline, Janet (Aaron) Craig, Sharon (Pete) DelosReyes ; 5 Great-Grandchildren; a younger Sister: Betty Krause of Belle Fourche, SD; a Sister-in-Law: Lois Palmer of Marinette, WI; and 7 Nieces and Nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Tenny, in 1995; a son, Tenny Mark Seline, in 1958; and brothers, Donald and Wayne. Memorials may be directed to Cornerstone Baptist Church.
