

Memorial services for Lotracia “Jane” Ray, 64, of Eldridge, IA will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, August 19, 2011 at the Cunnick-Collins Mortuary chapel in Davenport. The family will greet friends from 4:00 p.m. until service time at the mortuary. Per her wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. Mrs. Ray passed away on Monday, August 15, 2011 at her residence. Lotracia Jane Whitcomb was born in Keokuk, IA on August 11, 1947, the daughter of Floyd and Helen (Harris) Whitcomb. In 1967, she married Alan Payton in Davenport. She later married Donald Ray in 1992. She was a self-proclaimed business woman. She owned and operated L & J Detailers in Davenport. She enjoyed going to the casino, attending her family reunions, and spending time with her grandchildren. She also took great pride in her porcelain doll collection. She was an Elvis enthusiast, and loved her little dog, Georgie. She is survived by her Husband: Donald Ray of Eldridge; three Daughters: Tammy (Phillip) Crockett of La Plata, MO, Annette (Donald) Gardner of Davenport, Nicole (Paul) Heath of Davenport; two Step-daughters: Laura (John) Martin of Blue Grass, IA, Lisa Broderick of Davenport; two Sons: Alan (Sandra) Payton Jr., Lee Payton, both of Davenport; a Step-son: Donald (Rebecca) Ray Jr. of Davenport, IA; a Sister: Freida (Mark) Fuller of Muscatine, IA; four Brothers: Robert Whitcomb of Toledo, OH, William (Donna) Whitcomb of Port Byron, IL, Roger (Vicki) Whitcomb of Letts, IA, John Whitcomb of Muscatine, IA; 14 Grandchildren and one Great-grandson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Gary Whitcomb Sr.; a granddaughter, Tabitha Crockett; and her step-mother, Esther Whitcomb. Memorials may be directed to Beacon of Hope Hospice.
