Louise Grabin-Clark

Per her wishes, there will be no funeral services. Inurnment will take place alongside her husband, Woodrow Grabin in Oxford, Iowa on or near what would have been her 102nd birthday, April 13, 2023.

Louise loved and was loved by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Her life was one of selflessness – with the needs of others ever present on her mind. She was a devoted teacher serving Iowa schools for 35 years, the last 23 of which were with North Scott School District (Virgil Grissom Elementary) in Princeton, IA. She loved and collected all kinds of antiques, including automobiles. She also loved her flowers…. all children, especially babies.

She is preceded in death by her parents, James L. and Bertha F. Hawkins, sister Willa Ruth and her twin Lucille (died in infancy), Wilma Coddington, Marjorie Watson, Fern Ball, Elsie Smith and Arlene McKnight. And brothers, Willard Hawkins, Walter Hawkins, Morgan Hawkins, F. Armour Hawkins, James F. Hawkins, and several nieces and nephews. Also her Husband(s) Woodrow F. Grabin, and Louis D. Clark and infant daughter, Ronna Dee Grabin.

Those left to honor her memory are her son Denny (Karen) Grabin of Etowah, TN. with grandchildren Emma (Daniel) Bird of Athens, TN. and Claire, Annie, Levi and Laurel of Etowah. Another son, Gary (Paula) Grabin of Hampton, IL. with granddaughter Sarah (Jose) Zepeda of Davenport, IA., great-granddaughter Isabella (Orlando) Carmona of Davenport, IA. And great-grandson Nicolas Zepeda, also of Davenport, Ia. And granddaughter Elizabeth Grabin of LeClaire, IA. Also, daughter Denise (Martin) Hollister of LeClaire, IA. with grandson Jericho Hollister of Bettendorf, IA., granddaughter Rosemary (Matt) Clark of Bettendorf, IA., with great-grandchildren Samson, Sayler and Finnick. And another grandson, William (Marissa) Hollister of Coralville, IA.

Louise also has one remaining sister, Norma Hawkins of Chariton, IA. And a sister-in-law Marjorie Hawkins of Sumner, IA. And many nieces and nephews. Again, she loved them all.
