

He was born March 24, 1954, in Starkville, Mississippi, to Lucious Sr. and Lilli (Bishop) Hill.
Lucious was united in marriage to Dorothy (Sanders) Hill in 2007. He was previously married to Arnita (Jackson) Hill in 1981 and for 42 years, they raised John, Sadie, Theresa and Lucas.
Lucious lived a simple, yet full life. He represented the spirit of what family means and the importance of looking out for one another. He was known for his big bright smile and corny jokes. He enjoyed gambling, playing cards with his lifelong friends, fast food, and Little Debbie Snack Cakes.
Lucious was a sports enthusiast and enjoyed watching his favorite sports teams, the Washington Redskins (Red Tails), Iowa Hawkeye Football, L.A. Dodgers baseball, Los Angeles Lakers and The University of Tulsa Women’s Volleyball.
Lucious graduated from Davenport West High School in 1974. During his years as a Falcon, he was a member of the 1970 and 1972 State Champion Basketball Teams and 1974 State Champion Football Team. Lucious earned a basketball scholarship to Iowa Central Community College; played semi- professional football, for two seasons, for the Quad City Mohawks.
Lucious was employed at Blackhawk Foundry for many years; he was employed for 8 years at Davenport Community Schools, as a custodian, until the time of his death.
Lucious is survived by his wife, Dorothy; brothers, Willie and Donnie Hill; sisters, Brenda Hill and Dessie Mitchem; children: John (Jennifer) Jackson, Sadie (Robert) Jackson-Pemberton, Cindy (Vadrekaus) O’Neal, Theresa Jackson, Molly (Jim) Peters, Kelicia (Edward) Hopkins, and Martel Overton. He is also survived by his 37 grandchildren, a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and longtime friend, Paul Hilliard.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 5 sisters, 1 brother, 2 grandsons, and his beloved son, Lucas.
A 10:30 am visitation will be held for immediate family members only at Runge Mortuary & Crematory, 838 E. Kimberly Rd, Davenport, Ia.
Graveside services are open to the public at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, September 11, 2020 in Oakdale Memorial Gardens, located at 2501 Eastern Avenue, Davenport. Suffragan Bishop Gregory L. Middleton will officiate.
Facemasks will be required.
