Mabel Uchtorff

Mabel W. Uchtorff, 88, of Davenport, died Monday, December 6, 2010 at Ridgecrest Village. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 11, 2010 at 10:00 am at The Runge Mortuary. Visitation will be held Friday, from 5-7 pm at the mortuary. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Crest Health Care Center. Mabel was born December 17, 1921 in Davenport, Iowa, the daughter of Frederick and Helen (Weiskopf) Schreck. She was united in marriage to Wayne Uchtorff on August 16, 1941in Davenport; he died February 22, 1977.She had worked as a medical and legal secretary for various offices in the Quad Cities prior to her retirement. Mabel was an active volunteer in the community and was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

Along with her family, Mabel enjoyed camping and travelling in her earlier years.

Those left to honor her memory include her son, Jerry (Kris) Uchtorff, New Boston, MI, daughter, Barbara (Ed) VanCott, Baldwinsville, NY, grandchildren: Wendy (Brian) Persinger, Taylor, MI; Jeffrey (Kerry) Uchtorff, Bloomington, IL; Clinton (Renee) Uchtorff, New Boston, MI; five great grandchildren.

Her parents and a brother, Marlan “Mike” Schreck preceded her in death.
