Marilyn J. Schmidt

Marilyn. J. Schmidt, 87, of Eldridge, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 16, 2013 surrounded by her loving family at Manor Care Utica Ridge. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday, October 22 at Faith Lutheran Church in Eldridge. Visitation will be from 5:00 – 7:00 PM Monday, October 21, 2013 at the church and for one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Marilyn was born on March 25, 1926 in Davenport, Iowa, the daughter of Edward R. and Wilella (Baugh) Stein. She married Ralph B. Schmidt on September 6, 1947 in Davenport. He preceded her in death on February 3, 2005.

Mrs. Schmidt worked at Eldridge Pharmacy for 22 years and was co-owner of M & S Craft Store retiring in 1998. She loved her family dearly and also enjoyed fishing, traveling and gambling occasionally locally and in Las Vegas. She was a member of the Eldridge American Legion Women’s Auxiliary.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Denny (Beverley) Schmidt, Clive, IA; grandsons, Tyler (Angie) Schmidt and Tom (Tiffany) Schmidt, both of Eldridge; step-grandson, Scott Woodsmall, Kansas City; and great grandchildren, Hunter, Logan, Colton, Teagan and Torrin.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and daughter-in-law, Sally Schmidt.
