Services for Marion Williams, 90, of Seguin, Texas, formerly of Davenport, will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Runge Mortuary and Crematory, Davenport. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park. Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Friday at the mortuary. Mr. Williams passed Wednesday, March 14, 2012 in Clarkston, Michigan.
He was born July 23, 1921 in Hannibal, Missouri. Mr. Williams was a veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard. He worked and subsequently purchased Tri-City Florist on Harrison Street in Davenport. He retired in 1979 to Seguin, Texas after 36 years in the whole sale florist business. Mr. Williams is preceded in death by Freda Williams (Stoeter) of 57 years, brother Lawrence Williams, parents Anna and Dee Williams, friends Marion Rathburn, and Dave Mundt. Survivors include son, Marvin and daughter-in-law Rose; sister-in-law Marsha Williams, grandson; Matthew and wife Pinda, grandson; Mark and wife Therese; great grand-daughters; Elizabeth and Julia. Fondly know as "Richard" or "Dick", he was a die-hard Chicago Cubs and San Antonio Spurs fan.
