Mark LaCour Paulsen, 72, of Plainview, IA, died on January 27, 2026. Per his wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. A private family service will be held. He will be laid to rest at Davenport Memorial Park.
Mark was born in Davenport on September 21, 1953, to parents Harold and Loretta Paulsen. He graduated from North Scott High School in 1972. He was a carpenter before he went to work for the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 150. He worked there for over 30 years, retiring in 2010. In his free time, Mark was an outdoorsman. He was an avid fisher and pheasant hunter.
Mark is survived by his brother, William Paulsen; his sister-in-law, Deb Paulsen; his nieces, Malia (Josh) Carstens and Joni Paulsen; his nephew, Neal (Rachel) Paulsen; his great nieces and nephews, Kane and Kole Carstens, and Natalie, Melanie, Owen, and Lewis Paulsen; and his special friend, June Badhand.
He is preceded by his parents and sister, Joyce Paulsen.
