

Marguerite E. Borchers, 96, of Davenport, passed away Monday, February 24, 2014 at the Good Samaritan Nursing Center in Davenport. Funeral services will be Friday, February 28, 2014 at 11:00 am at The Runge Mortuary. Visitation will be Thursday from 5-7 pm at the mortuary. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Marguerite was born July 12, 1917 in Stockton, IA; the daughter of Harry and Malonie (Herbst) Bohnsack. She was united in marriage to Carl Borchers on February 14, 1935; he preceded her in death. She loved dancing and listening to music. She was a proud supporter of Camp Courageous and enjoyed attending their breakfasts. She belonged to the Walcott Royal Neighbors.
Marguerite worked at the Davenport West High School cafeteria for over twenty years. She never drove; enjoying riding the bus.
Those left to honor her memory include her children: Marjorie (Jack) Dittmer and Cindee (Dave) Beffel; seven grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Pat Borchers; brother, Bob (Jeanne) Bohnsack; sister, Jeanette Hoffman and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, son, Gary, her parents, two brothers and four sisters.
