Marvin Wayne Mason

Marvin Wayne Mason, age 77, of DeWitt, IA, formerly of Huntingburg, Indiana, passed away at 9:17 pm on Monday, March 10, 2014 at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf. Visitation will be Friday, March 14, 2014 from 4 to 7 pm at the Runge Mortuary in Davenport. Further arrangements will be under the direction of the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg, IN. Burial will be in Montgomery Cemetery in Oakland City, IN, with military honors. Memorials may be made to Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House or the Huntingburg United Methodist Church, 416 N. Marvin was born August 10, 1936 in Gibson County, IN, a son of Seward Edward and Verda Arizona (Elkins) Mason. He graduated from Spurgeon High School and Lain Tech in Indiana. He served as an Airman 1st Class in the US Air Force from 1956 until 1960. He retired from Deere & Company where he was a computer technician. Following retirement he went to work for GMB Auction Service. His memberships included the Huntingburg United Methodist Church, V.F.W. Post #2366 and Masonic Lodge #396.

Those left to honor his memory include his nieces, Cathy Mason-Baumeyer, Louisville, KY and Roxanne Baxter, Bellingham, WA; nephews, Steven Mason, Garland, TX and Danny Thomas, Jr., Kansas City, KS; friends and caregivers, Joan Lass and Stan Miller and family and several great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Wanda Thomas and a brother, Haskell “Hack” Mason.
