A gathering to celebrate the life of Michael Gene Reed, 60, of Davenport will be held from 2:00 – 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 23rd in Keppy Hall at the Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds, Davenport. Mike passed away on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at his residence surrounded by his family, after a brief but courageous battle with cancer. Mike was born on February 3, 1957 in Des Moines, IA, the son of Verle and M. Joann (Kimzey) Reed. He was a 1974 graduate of Davenport West High School. In 1980, he married Jody K. Alderson in Davenport. Mike worked in production at Wonder Bread until his retirement. He is survived by his Wife: Jody Reed of Davenport; Daughter: Kate Reed of Davenport; Son: Jerry Reed of Salt Lake City, UT; and 8 Grandchildren: Darius, Sirhus, Ahijah, Nautis, River, English, Kyla, and Zain. He was preceded in death by his parents. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.
