Mildred Irene Busko

Mildred “Millie” Kuehl – Allen – Busko, 97, of Davenport, passed away Sunday, October 20, 2013 at Manor Care – Utica Ridge. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday in the Runge Mortuary Chapel. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at the mortuary. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Millie was born on February 12, 1916 in Davenport, Iowa, a daughter of Walter and Vernetta (Wrage) Kuehl. She married Herbert Allen October 23, 1937. He preceded her in death in 1986. She later married Thomas Busko and he passed away in 1996. Mrs. Busko worked for the Rock Island Arsenal, Ralston Purina, Montgomery Ward and later for Sears.

She was a member of the Moose, the Elks, the Eagles, the Eagles ReAct Club, the Svithoid Club (Moline), Plus 60 Club and AARP. She loved to play cards and be with friends and was also a founding member of a monthly card club for over 60 years. She loved to travel and has been to the Hawaiian Islands 13 times. She is survived by a daughter, Judy Ovesen; granddaughters , Lori Gamble and Susan (Brad) Suhr, and three great grandchildren William and Michelle Gamble and Logan Suhr. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands Herbert and Thomas, and siblings Walter Kuehl, Lester Kuehl, Raymond Kuehl, Dorothy Rice, Norma Anderson, and Bernice Chapman.
