

Nancy Jo Sullivan went to be with the Lord on June 11, 2025. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, June 16, 2025, at Weerts Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. She will be laid to rest next to her husband and Rock Island National Cemetery.
Nancy was born on December 24, 1936, on a snowy Christmas Eve in Port Byron IL, the daughter of Dean and Florence (Huff) Eckelberry. Nancy was a proud 1954 graduate of Port Byron Community High School. She was united in marriage to Jimmy D. Sullivan on November 23, 1956, at the Port Byron Methodist church. He preceded her in death on December 9th, 2022, following over 66 years of marriage. During her time raising a family, Nancy successfully earned a Registered Nurse Degree. She concluded her nursing career as an elementary school nurse within the Rock Island – Milan School District.
Nancy loved boating with Jim on the Mississippi River, friends card clubs, and traveling to their winter home in Casa Grande, AZ. Most of all, she cherished spending time with her family. Jim and Nancy were members of the Colona United Methodist Church, Colona Illinois.
Those left to honor her memory are her three children Mrs. Teri (Jerry) Wuestenberg of Dixon Iowa; Mr. Douglas (Marge) Sullivan of East Moline, Illinois; and Dr. Jill Sullivan of Chandler, Arizona; much-loved grandsons—Denver (Janet) Strader (Milan, Illinois), Kurtis (Jennifer) Sullivan (Albuquerque, New Mexico), and Bryan (Christine) Sullivan (Gurnee, Illinois) as well as four great-grandchildren, Mia, Lily, Ryland, and Rhys.
Nancy was preceded in death by her beloved husband Jim, her parents, her brother Robert Eckelberry and sister Marilyn Sullivan.
The Sullivan family is grateful for the wonderful care provided to Mom by Heartland Hospice, especially Santana and Christina.
