

Nola White, 89, of Davenport, passed away Friday, May 23, 2014 at Ridgecrest in Davenport. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 27, 2014 at 10:00 am at Newcomb Presbyterian Church. Visitation will be Monday from 3-6 pm at The Runge Mortuary. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Newcomb Presbyterian Church. Nola was born September 7, 1924 in Greenville, Iowa, the daughter of Gerhard and Etta (Clark) Peterson.
Nola was united in marriage to Bernard Guthrie on November 1, 1947 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, IA; he preceded her in death in 1990. She then married to Donald R. White on May 29, 1993; he preceded her in death on July 8, 2000. She was owner of Sylvia’s Dress Shop in downtown Davenport with her husband for many years.
She and Don enjoyed traveling and she was an avid book reader. She was deeply involved with her children’s activities. Her memberships included Newcomb Presbyterian Church and the Red Hat Society.
Those left to honor her memory include her daughter, Janis (William) Ford, West Jordan, UT; son, Bradley (Cynthia) Guthrie, Davenport; step-daughter, Margaret White Lake, Davenport; step-son George (Jan) White, Golden Co; grandchildren, Isaiah and Megan Ford, West Jordan, UT; step-grandchildren: Kevin Lake, DeWitt, IA; Meghan Lake, Denver, CO; Emily White, Seattle, WA; James White, Denver, CO; Nichole Cugnetti, Denver, CO and three great grandchildren. In addition to her husbands, Nola was preceded in death by a sister, Marcia Morris.
