Pamela Beth Rosenberg

Pamela “Pam” Beth Rosenberg (née Stone), 79, passed away peacefully on August 16, 2024, in her hometown of Davenport, Iowa. Pam was born on December 8, 1945, to Irving and Miriam (née Blumenthal) Stone.

After graduating from Davenport Central High School, Pam furthered her education at the University of Iowa, where she was a member of Sigma Delta Tau sorority. It was at that sorority house that she met her future husband, Jack Rosenberg. After their first date, Jack told Pam he was going to marry her. Pam replied, “Over my dead body.”

In the early 1970’s Pam and her growing family moved to Maquoketa, Iowa, where they made their home and raised their family for many years. Eventually, Pam worked alongside Jack at Rosenberg's Auto Supply, and later, J.R.'s Wine and Spirits. She also proudly served as First Lady of Maquoketa while Jack served as Mayor.

Pam was a member of Davenport’s Temple Emanuel; she was the first Bat Mitzvah to be called to the Torah in the congregation’s history.

Pam always had an active social life. Her dry wit and one-liners amused and charmed everyone she met. She was an avid needlepoint and Mahjong enthusiast. She loved traveling, especially with her girlfriends.

Pam's passing is mourned by her husband of 57 years Jack; children Mara (Jon) Goodvin, Allison Rosenberg, and Jeff (Megan) Rosenberg; grandchildren Elise, Kate, Michael, and Lily Alice; many friends and all who knew her. Her life will be celebrated and remembered for her sense of humor and sense of style.

She is preceded in death by her parents Irving and Miriam Stone, brother Dr. Stuart Stone, in-laws Bernie and Josephine Rosenberg, and Max Rosenberg.

A graveside service shall be held at Mt. Nebo Cemetery at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, August 19, 2024.

Arrangements are being handled by Weerts Funeral Home in Davenport.
