

Ralph George Albrecht, age 97, passed away peacefully at his home on February 8, 2026, surrounded by his family. A funeral service will be held at Weerts Funeral Home on Monday, February 16, at 1:30 p.m., with visitation beginning one hour prior at 12:30 p.m. Burial will follow at Prairie Union Cemetery in Low Moor, Iowa.
Ralph was born on October 4, 1928, in Davenport, Iowa, to George Albrecht and Lisalotte (Riedel) Albrecht. He graduated from Davenport High School in 1946. On June 25, 1949, he was united in marriage to Dorothy Van Epps in Davenport.
Ralph began his career as an auto mechanic in 1946 and continued in that profession until 1974, when he transitioned into car sales. He retired in 1990 but remained active, later working as a courier for Metropolitan Medical Laboratory until 2010.
He enjoyed fishing, crafting his own fishing lures, and woodworking. Ralph was a lifelong member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Davenport.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife, Dorothy; and his sister, Jean. He is survived by his son, Larry Albrecht and wife Karen Atnip; nine grandchildren, including Molly Lewis and Lisa Lincoln; eight great-grandchildren; and special friend Joan Anderson of Coal Valley and her family.
Larry expresses his heartfelt gratitude to his father for instilling in him a deep appreciation of nature through hunting, fishing, and time spent outdoors. He also thanks him for introducing him to amateur radio, a hobby he has enjoyed for more than sixty years.
Ralph will be remembered for his honesty, loyalty, and steadfast dedication to supporting his family.
