Ralph G. Ruebling, 99, of Davenport passed away on Sunday, October 27, 2024 at Silvercrest at Garner Farms. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 2, 2024 at Weerts Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. on Friday November 1 at the funeral home. Ralph was born in Davenport on September 30, 1925 to George and Edna (Bruhn) Ruebling. He was a graduate of Davenport High School in 1943. Ralph was united in marriage to Lois Gordy on February 3, 1951 in Davenport. They were married 60 years. She preceded him in death on May 30, 2011. Ralph grew up and worked on the family farm and continued farming until 1965. Throughout this time farming, Ralph worked for the US Postal Service as a carrier for 27 years. Ralph was a longtime member of First Presbyterian Church, Moose Lodge, Elks Club, and Plus 60. He volunteered for meals on wheels, CASI, the letter carriers union and was an original owner of Suburban Lanes where he enjoyed bowling. Ralph was an avid Chicago Cubs fan and Iowa Hawkeye fan.
Survivors include his children; Millie Ruebling and Mark (Linda) Ruebling; grandchildren, Ryan Ruebling, Laura (Brett) Cain-Shreiner, Jennifer Dolph, Mary Weideman and Joe (Anita) Weideman; great grandchildren, Kayleigh, Elizabeth, Chloe, Maeve and Sylvie; and a special friend, Bonnie Lang.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and 1 sister, Jeanette Smith.
